One World One Heart is a very special event. As you know this year we had nearly 1,000 participants involved in it and to say it was a success is an understatement. The current issue of Artful Blogging did a lovely article about the event including photos of some of the giveaways. As you all know this event was designed specifically to create a conduit for meeting and connecting with new people. It isn't all about what you can win......it's not meant to be a promotional advertising tool.....it isn't about bringing people to your blog only that day and then never seeing them again (although it happens with this many people). This event is about forming friendships and kindred spirits and finding commonalities with those you may not have otherwise met. The giveaway portion as I have said before is like a door prize for stopping by.
So having said all this those that do not follow through on getting that door prize to the winner negates the good will of this event. Those who choose to participate are guaranteeing that their giveaway is
true and authentic and when a winner is announced will follow through
on sending out whatever it is to the winner in a timely manner. Unfortunately it has been brought to my attention that a few people never received theirs..........even after repeated attempts to contact the giver AND after the giver has assured the winner "it's in the mail". I realize life gets in the way but our winners were announced on February 12th..........today it is THREE months later and some have still not received theirs.
Please, I am asking you as kindly as I possibly can, if you have NOT yet sent your winners what they won do it NOW. If you have had a set back PLEASE communicate that. It is absolutely unfair and frankly just wrong that anyone would choose to participate and then when it's over not follow through.
Let's keep this event solid.............let us honor our participation and the obligation that comes with it. For those who have informed me of not ever receiving your giveaway I feel so bad you have waited in good faith. Unfortunately I cannot MAKE a person do the right thing but I can keep records for next years participation. For those of you who KNOW you need to send out what you obligated yourself to do...... DO IT NOW. Make good on your promise as a rider on the Gypsy Caravan.....it isn't too late to set things to right - and think how good you will feel that you eventually followed through.
At this time I anticipate there WILL be another event in 2010. If you haven't heard of it or want more information just bookmark this blog and watch for announcements in the future. This is not my daily blog therefore I only update here when there is an announcement of some sort regarding One World One Heart only.
I am hoping by late November this year to start talking about the date for 2010!
Watch for it!
Thank you!
Lisa
